Played with a jackhammer!!!!

Yesterday and today played with a jackhammer digging a trench at a friends house. It was fun, but also hot workin cause it was a little warm this arvo.

Too many females in the house and of course all have hormones.... poor old Zak, he has been keeping out of the way of the girls today. lol At least he will learn young.

Wonder what adventure tomorrow will bring......

Another first!!

Another first for me today.

I am now selling something on ebay for the first time. What a process!! Listed it is a seven day thingy and will have to wait with baited breath to see what happens. Hopefully there is someone out there who wants to buy my stuff..... living dead dolls are a bit of niche market though lol

Teenager and I have been learning to love the maths... standard deviation corelation coefficient and coefficient of determination. What fun stuff.... in the olden days they used to call it... data, data statistics and comparison of differenial data. The formula for anyone who is interested is: r = E(x-x^)(y-y^) / (n-1)sx sy..... thats the best I can type it with a standard keyboard. Yr 12 further math is GREAT!!! Needless to say.... now brain dead and singing the Lilly Allen - 'F#*k You' song in our heads and pigging out on M&Ms. Wonder what maths joy next week holds.

Younger kids came back from their dads today. Had a good time as usual. Came home with the usual dirty washing, stuff and chatter.

Missy of course went next door to chat with their visitors and the little fella cruised through you tube looking at Warner Brothers film clips.

Same old, same old. Time to get uniforms, lunches and washing finished for the school week ahead.

of course.... also crank the dishwasher up. still loving the thing.

Another busy weekend of sorts.

Rostered on at the fire station today... so early start and managed to keep the momenum up all day.

Missy went off to her friends for the weekend.... it is the first 'high school' friend sleepover. According to all reports, fun was had by all !!! Will no doubt be hearing all the details after school tommorow when she comes home.

Teenager went off to stay in town at her boyfriends house today.

Then there was silence........

So its just me and the little dude. Between playing the playstation - crash bandicoot of course, watching pokemon dvd, jumping on the trampoline, playing with the train track in the shed and general hanging about it his jammies all day.... he has had a goodie.

I managed to get all the lawns mowed before it rained this evening. Phew.... glad I did it today.

Went to parent/teacher interviews on Tuesday night at the high school. Teenager in year 12 this year and doing well. Her english and english Lit teacher described her work as 'superior'. So of course I have been walking around with a fat head. So far so good. She had been working hard and it is paying off... good for her.

Missy is learning to play the saxaphone at school.... wow .... when she practices in the back yard it sounds like the queen mary is coming in to dock in the back yard lol but have to admit, it is making much friendlier sounds the more lessons she gets. I went out and got earmuffs for the whole family, as a precaution of course. But she is enjoying it and the music is coming along nicely too.

Little dude is using lots of words in sentences. It is brilliant... instead of him saying 'cordial' I tell him to use his words and he says 'Can I have my green cordial please mum?, ok, your welcome" its wonderful. He also is using it in different context and generalising with his sentence. What a champion!!!!

Still looooving the dishwasher.

Bushfires - nasty things

Been flat out with getting kids back to school and settled.

Just finished getting my diswasher installed and LOVE it. The 2 dishwasher I had, Alex and Missy, were just not washing the dishes properly, took ages to get the dishes washed and even stopped washing dishes altogether!! So I got one I could rely on! Press the button and hey presto... clean sink, clean dishes, not cranky mother lol

Went out to the recent bushfire near Daylesford. After the deadly fires of late, it makes us all to aware of the power and brutal force of fire. So heading home after a 12 hour shift on the truck, I thought to myself.... I am lucky to be a member of the CFA and be able to go and help with the fires. Lucky my kids are so understanding and are ok with me going out to help other people. Lucky my friend Pam will come over and look after my kids so I can go out on the truck. Lucky I have good friends who care and respect that I go out and offer a hand with things when I get back.

Sometimes I feel like an anonomous person out there in yellow just like everyone else and how much of a difference would I make, but then I think that, well, if we all didnt go out and just do what we love and are trained to do, we collectively would not be able to have such a huge impact on not only our community, but the rest of the state when we are needed.

Anyhow, time to crank up the dishwasher...... love that thing already!!!!

It is finally all wrapped and ready to go.
Kids are getting excited about the big day on Thursday. This year is great because they have all purchased some gifts for each other with the money that they have saved. Great!!
Putting an oval 14ft trampoline together with the three kids and the dog supervising was interesting. Needless to say, once they could jump on it, all work was abandoned. Will have to finish it off on boxing day I think.
FINALLY got to use the air conditioner..... yeah baby.... what a ripper
Missy had her hair done today and Alex is having hers done tonight. Really turning into a bit of a girly household. Poor Zak.... he escaped to his bedroom to watch Nemo!!
I am quite loking forward to the kids making a HUGE mess on Christmas morning and having 'stuff' everywhere. Its gunna be fun.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy christmas.

The shed is clean!!!! What a cleansing experience.
Latest news........ Air conditioner is being installed...... WOO HOO......... by this time tomorrow I will be able to heat and COOL the house. Of course now that the thing is in.... it is going to be cool for the next couple of days. Ahhh Murphy's Law is a funny thing.
Went for a driving lesson in the fire truck on the weekend..... its been a while since I have driven the truck, but it was good. Didn't forget where the gears were ;-)
Have been a little busy of late.... I have a daily appointment with a wee little foal called Shilo. She is a few weeks old and has been learning about being handled and wearing a head stall and walking on a lead. Imagine a little puppy on the leash for the first time, when they roll around on the floor and drag backwards etc.... now picture the same kind of behaviour, but with a small horse thats back comes up to your waist. It is quite amusing. She is coming along well and is coping ok with being handled. The mother of course thinks it is great.... a babysitter for an hour each day! She just chomps on her food and wanders around the paddock, not a care in the world.
Kids are all doing well and the little fella is talking a mile a minute (in his own way) and has developed a little bit of attitude. When I call him, he arrives in front of me and says "yer". Cheeky little bugger!!
Missy and her lizard are firm friends and it is not uncommon for me to get to give both her and Bert a good night kiss. He is a funny little dude... likes to have a cuddle while I am at the computer and likes to have a run down the hallway.
Teenager is doing ok, her and the boyfriend are joined at the mobile phone lol Always texting day and night. Even if they have spent the day together.... awwww its cute. (Dare not say that to her though)
One of these days I am going to get to bed at a decent hour.....tonight is not looking good, and I wont hold my breath for tomorrow lol

A clean shed is the reward from a day of chucking out all the stuff you accumulate over time with the 'might need that one day' mentality. Well after a day of cleansing and a trailer full of JUNK to prove it, I am now the proud owner of a clean organised shed.

Nothing like chucking out stuff (AKA Junk, Rubbish and missing lids) and sweeping and sorting out to make a therapist be unemployed. lol There is something quite theraputic about getting rid of dirt, dust, junk, stuff you havn't seen for years and stuff you can't beleive you kept.

Next time someone tells me that they think they need to see a shrink...... I will highly reccomend cleaning out the shed. Also, if all gose to plan.... it will eleviate insomnia, as not only will you be bloody knackered from moving all the stuff around, but getting sneaky and chucking out some of the kids stuff at the same time is to be considered a little tricky.

First the shed......

now who knows what else will be sorted, cleaned and de-junked??!!
